On October 7th 2023 the lives of all Israelis and all Palestinians changed forever. Hamas killed over 1200 Israelis and others, then Israel started a relentless attack on Gaza. For three months, Israeli peace activist Dana Mills wrote near daily essays, reporting her fears, thoughts and - occasionally - hopes. She knew a number of people killed on that first day, many were fellow peace activists, and she had worked as a Jewish human rights advocate for Gazans and those living under occupation on the West Bank.
