The Turning Circle

Time-slip novel about a friendship between two girls, occupants of the same house in rural Lincolnshire but separated by centuries. For Janni, an outsider in a tight fenland village community and Alice, whose family have to flee religious persecution, their secret friendship is a refuge. But Janni is growing up and events are moving on in Alices's life, pulling her in a different direction. Written for teenagers, this novel will also be enjoyed by adults with an interest in the turbulent history of Stuart England. The fictional lives of the two main characters become intertwined with real events such as the flight to the Netherlands of the religious seekers who later became the core group of the Pilgrim Fathers when they sailed to the New World.
